Zander, walleyes big brother

There’s simply no area in the world with such an abundant zander population as Amsterdam. We don’t call our beloved city the Zander Capital of the world. For those who don’t know yet: the zander (Stizostedion lucioperca) is quite similar to the American walleye (Sander vitreus) but then just bigger and, according to a lot of American fishermen also stronger.

Pike and perch

Apart from the famous zander our waters offer a great population of other fishing species. One of the most poplar species that we target is the perch. This fish is the XXL version of the American yellow perch. Fish over 3 lb have been recorded at Fishing Amsterdam.

Even bigger is the Northern pike. Just like the muskie it’s not a fish that is caught in high numbers, but the size makes up for that easily. Pike over 15 lb are no exception.

Except great zander and pike, we also target really fat perch!

8 and 5 hour fishing trips

On our standard full day fishing trips we go out for 8 hours, but we also provide 4-hour trips. We have all the required fishing tackle on board and licenses can be purchased on the day of fishing. On the full day trips we offer a great lunch, coffee and soft drinks.
